What, Is This World Coming To?
As you have heard from these individuals, you get a glimpse of not only what this world and our society is coming to…
But what it has come to.
Before I show you what you have witnessed in this video was prophesied thousands of years ago, let me ask you to do me a favor first.
So, here’s the favor… Would you please share this article with your friends on your favorite social media channel?
Also could you please leave a comment below and give your opinion on this topic.
Thanks in advance…
The Many Devices in Man’s Heart
The word of God says that there are many devices in a man or woman’s heart, but it is the counsel of the Lord that shall stand. What this means is that we can come up with all types of plans–but God is going to have the final say in the matter.
Do you believe that? If not let me show you what the word of God says about what these people have been doing in this video.
Thousands of years ago a man of God penned these words…
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.
And they will turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables.” 2nd Timothy 4:3-4
This is what the world has come to…
Is The Bible True?
As you have heard in the video above that only 1 out 5 of the people that were asked the question on the reliability of the Bible only 1 of them believed that it is the truth.
We also so heard a few other opinions as well. So, what are we to believe?
Well here is my take on the topic. And it is that “We cannot shape the truth to fit our desires, but we must shape our desires to fit the truth.
On that note… do you remember that one of the young women in the video suggested that as society’s values change that the Bible should change along with it.
She is also saying that we as people are smarter than God and that God’s wisdom, knowlege, and understanding is outdated and out of touch with today’s society.
Wow! That’s saying to the Creator that He has to conform to us and not the other way around.
There are many verses of scripture that instructs us not to be like the world, and my favorite one is found in the New Testament book of Romans 12:1-2. You should read it…
Better yet–here is what it instructs us to do and not to do.
The writer starts out with this plea: I beseech you, therefore, brothers and sisters by the mercies of God that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Now that’s just one place instructing us that we need to put away our way of thinking and adhere to what the word of God has to say.
So, you ask yourself…
But Can We Rely On what the Bible Instructs?
Well, let me put it to you this way.
I’m 50 something years of age at the time that I am writing this article, and I will have to sternly agree with what the last lady said about the ability to rely on the word of God?
Before I remind you of what was said, let me just say that as time has passed I have seen in my life and in the lives of others that the word of God holds true.
She stated very confidently that as a man or woman that is a believer gets older, one will recognize that the wisdom of God and the Bible stays the same.
And just to prove it to you; let me show where it states this in the Holy Book of God.
In the book of Hebrews chapter 13 verse, 8 the word of God says … “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.”
If that doesn’t convince you, let’s take a look in the Old Testament in the book of Malachi chapter 3 verse 6 God says … “For I am the LORD, I change not.”
Here is something else that I find fascinating about God, and it is after He spoke this word through the prophet Malachi– the people did not hear a word from God or none of his prophets for a least 400 years.
Can you guess what he (God ) had to say after 400 years of silence? Yeah, a lot!
Why Don’t People Trust The Bible?
There are a lot of reasons why people don’t trust the Bible, and you may or may not have a few reasons why you think that the bible is not trustworthy.
If you recall there was one young lady who said and believed that the bible was full of metaphors and that a lot of people can read it in a lot of different ways… and that it’s not the same for everyone. She is basically saying that we should do what the word of God tells us not to do.
So, what would that be … you ask?
Well, my friend if you would be so kind to look with me at these words found in the book of Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 through 7 we read this…
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Now, if you believe what the word of God says in verse 7 of this passage of scripture — to trust in ourselves is an evil thing to do.
Why do People Trust in Themselves and Not the Word Of God?
Let us look one more verse of scripture that explains why the world is the way that it is and why so many people trust that their way is the right way.
But before I get to that, let me remind you of something that even people that are not followers of Christ have a tendency to quote.
“The Truth Will Set You Free”
We hear people saying this quite often, don’t we?
Yet people refuse to live it.
Here’s why? You will find this truth tucked away in the book of 2nd Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 4 and it reads like this…
The god who rules this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. They cannot see the light, which is the good news about our glorious Christ, who shows what God is like.
This is taken from the Contemporary English Version.
So, you see… no pun intended. People are blind.
They are not blinded by the light as the old song is sung.
People are blinded by Satan himself the little (g ) god.
Also when the scripture talks about the “world” in this case it is talking about the world system and mostly the way secular society is run.
If you search the scripture we will find many instances where people of old were blinded.
People used by the wicked one at his will just as people in our society are being used today. They don’t even know it.
Heck, even we as Christians can be used of Satan if we choose to walk in darkness and not accept the word of God as the absolute truth.
So. how should I conclude this topic for now?
Here’s a reminder of what was admonished earlier.
“We cannot shape the truth to fit our desires, but we must shape our desires to fit the truth.
That being said… go, and be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10
