Anything that you can do, GOD can do Better.
Hello, my friend, as you are reading this I want you to understand that the title of this article is a universal truth that applies to us all.
It really is…
Yet for some to hear or read a statement such as ” anything that you can do, GOD can do better” is downright unbelievable and offensive.
Nevertheless … It is what it is.
Our thoughts are not His thoughts.
The Bible teaches us that a man has many thoughts or inventions in his heart, but it’s what God desires that shall come to pass. I’m paraphrasing…
Check it out in Proverbs 19:21.
That’s powerful and truly enlightening verse of scripture when one learns to embrace it. Believe me, my friend it’s better to embrace it… rather than fight against it.
Let’s just say I know that from my own experience.
God has thoughts that we are not capable of thinking and that is why I believe the Bible encourages us to ask God for wisdom. James 1:17
I have found that there are many places in the word of God that tells us that it not in us as mankind to direct our way.
That’s another hard pill to swallow…
Most people don’t want to believe that he’s not wise enough to order his or her life. I even heard one person say that as the values of our society changes the Bible should be changing with it.
Here is what the word of God has to say about that… Psalm 100:5 For the LORD os good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endures to all generations.
This lets me know that…
God’s ways are not our ways.
The bible clearly tells us that God operates in ways that are beyond our ways of thinking.
Have you ever found yourself suggesting to God how he should bless you or to deliver you from some trouble that you’re in?
I will be quite honest with you… I have.
Think about this way you may have had a bill that needs to be paid immediately….a power bill…a car payment…school tuition for your child. You don’t know where the money is coming from.
So, what happens is that you start having all types of ways that you think God should provide it for you.
You get the point… and here’s what happens though.
God’s shows up and shows out in a way that you didn’t imagine.
The word of God does tell us that God knows how to deliver us out of all of our troubles. And most times he will do it in ways that we haven’t thought of.
What can we do that God Can’t Do?
There is something that we can do that God can’t do. I don’t suggest that you or I should do it though.
If you know anything about what the Bible teaches us about God you probably know the thing that I’m talking about already.
But just in case you don’t know… The thing that we can do that God can’t do is… God can’t lie!
It’s impossible for The truth to lie. Hebrews 6:18 tells us that. We must also remember that it is the truth that makes us free.
Now back to the anything that we can do God can do better part.
What do you want to do?
Before you tell me about what you want to do, come with me for a moment.
Have you ever thought about how the moon the stars and even the earth remains in its place?
Yeah, I know you probably read somewhere about the gravitational pull of this or that… But what causes gravity and who thought of it?
So, think about this…whatever it is that you can think of that you wish to do–did you know that it’s not an original thought?
I mean the thought had to have come from somewhere or from someone for that matter. Thoughts come to us, and it’s up to us to determine where or who they come from before we claim them.
So you have a good idea huh?
Well, know this… if you don’t already. You should know that THOUGHTS and IDEAS only come to us, and it’s up to us to determine what we are going to do with them.
I have a suggestion for you… How about if you and I turned them over to God…the one who knows all things and the one who knows about all things.
Don’t get me wrong or don’t be misled into thinking that I have always done what I’m asking you to try and do.
To do this on a constant basis takes practice and it takes a lot of practice.
Remember there are many devices in a man’s heart… Nevertheless, we should practice what the Bible teaches and that is to trust in the Lord and lean not to our own understanding.
I get it though — and you are like me you have probably practiced doing thing the way that you think is best for so long… and hard to remember that it doesn’t work.
So what is One to do?
When it comes to knowing what to do in a certain situation I believe with all my heart that the word of God has an answer for everything. Fundamentally speaking that is.
What do I mean by fundamentally speaking, you ask?
Well, what I mean is that for whatever you are facing the Bible exhorts us to look to and ask God for wisdom. James 1:17 If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God, who gives wisdom to everyone that asks it of him. (paraphrasing of course).
Do I mean that he will tell which color of car to purchase? I wouldn’t count it out… But most likely he will let you know if its the right time to purchase the car or not.
You get what I’m saying… am I right?
So think about this… If you have a project or a goal that you want to complete, why not seek counsel from the one who knows about everything?
